The concert features Crusell's Clarinet Concerto No. 2 in F
Minor and a young soloist Julian Bliss aged 9. He started
playing the clarinet at the age of four. By the age of eight he had
achieved a distinction at Associated Board Grade VIII and recently
gained his advanced certificate with a score of 96%. He has twice
had the honour of performing for royalty - at a recital at
Buckingham Palace for H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh and before H.R.H.
The Prince of Wales when he opened the Purcell School at its new
site in Bushey.
Julian has recently returned from a tour of the U.S.A. where he
played at the Julliard School of Music. His teachers have included
David Johnston and Michael Collins and he is currently a pupil of
Paul Harris. Julian attends the Purcell School, Bushey and the
Junior department of the Royal College of Music.
